Breakout Sessions

Innovation – This discussion will include uses of existing technology and how to plan for other emerging technologies in the delivery of projects to DDC. How to private sector companies interact with public agencies to transfer information securely? What are the costs-time and money- of mandating certain technologies including software? Are there ways to ensure that both the public sector and private sector are protected from negative consequences associated with sudden changes, disruptive technologies and other related issues in this area.

Delivering Infrastructure Construction Projects with DDC – There are numerous challenges that complicate the delivery of infrastructure capital projects in New York City. This session will discuss how consultant-led, Resident Engineering Inspection (REI) services can help the DDC deliver best-in-class infrastructure projects. What can REI firms do to improve the delivery of their services to DDC? How can communication and collaboration between DDC, REI firms, consultants and contractors improve? This will also discuss positive project experiences and challenges with the DDC panelists.

Optimizing Project Delivery – How can we all be more efficient? From developing procurements and their standards to closing out projects, and everything in between, how can agencies be better owners and how can design firms be better service providers? It is often easier to see things from the other side, and this dialogue will allow everyone to discuss all opportunities to make our partnership more effective.
