COVID-19: Resources and Information

The health of ACEC New York’s employees and members is at the forefront of our policies and guidelines, and as such, ACEC New York is continuously addressing the novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). We are relying on local, state and federal health officials to provide additional information and guide us through this process.
We have compiled a resource page on important legislative issues, including up-to-date information from public agencies, that are impacted by or resulting from COVID-19.
We have also compiled a resource page on possible educational resources for members, including past recorded webinars.
The newly-formed Safety Committee have collected documents and information that pertain specifically to safety concerns on active projects in light of COVID-19 regulations.

Due to restrictions on public gatherings, we have postponed or cancelled a number of events. Visit our event calendar for more information on the current status of events. We encourage our members to take advantage of our virtual educational opportunities, including PDH and Building a Better Business webinars.
We recommend our members use best practices to protect the health of all New Yorkers. Visit ACEC New York's Safety Resources page for compiled resources, including a Safety Guidance Document compiled by the Safety Committee, for more best practices on site, in the office, and for the future.
ACEC New York Resume Bank During COVID-19
During these challenging times, ACEC New York has established a RESUME BANK to help match engineers that have been separated from firms with available opportunities among our member firms.
Separated engineers from member firms can ask to have their resume included in the bank by sending a PDF of their resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with one of three listed disciplines (MEP, Civil or Structural) in the header. These resumes will be collected in the appropriate bank without review or evaluation. Member firms seeking to fill openings can send a request for the resumes in the bank to Hannah O'Grady at ACEC New York (email@example.com). The request should indicate which discipline (MEP, Civil or Structural) is being sought. ACEC New York will NOT read or evaluate any resumes. All communication should be through email. This service will continue as long as deemed appropriate.
Official Statement on Engineering Excellence Gala
March 13, 2020
Due to the directive from the Office of the Governor of New York State, which dictates that "...events with 500 or more individuals in attendance to be cancelled or postponed," the Engineering Excellence Gala, originally scheduled for April 4 in New York City, will be postponed. A new date will be announced once confirmed. Current ticket purchases will stand until a new date is selected. In the unlikely event that the gala is cancelled, a refund will be provided for all attendees. If current ticket holders request a refund at this time of postponement, a full refund will be provided. We sincerely thank our attendees for their patience at this time.
All overnight rooms for the event at the Hilton Midtown have been canceled; no fees are owed on these rooms.
The safety and well-being of not just the engineering industry but all New Yorkers are essential to the core mission of ACEC New York. We will continue to monitor the continuously developing situation regarding COVID-19 and will continue to act accordingly.
