ACEC New York is partnering with Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP to present a Benchmarking program and survey focused on engineering firms in the New York City Metro area (including Long Island and Mid-Hudson firms).
The purpose of this survey is to compile, analyze, and summarize the most relevant operating and financial metrics, and associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for NYC-Metro area engineering/consulting firms in order to provide actionable insights that firm leaders can use to improve financial circumstances, manage risk, and to more effectively address their most pressing leadership and management challenges.
The information in this survey will enable us to generate a presentation that highlights and ‘benchmarks’ firm performance and corresponding KPIs for NYC-Metro area E/C firms, in the following areas:
- Revenue & Growth
- Productivity & Profitability
- Overhead Factors
- Balance Sheet & Working Capital
- Ownership, Leadership & Transition
- Risk Management – Project, Financial, Digital/Cyber
- Tax Planning and Strategy
- NYC-Metro Area Opinion Survey & Market Observations
For this endeavor to be successful, all NYC-Metro area firms are encouraged to participate. In order to compile a comprehensive report, at least 30 responses are required.
This survey is comprehensive, and the estimated completion time is about an hour. Completion of the survey will require referencing financial and other documentation from your firm for the last three years. You can complete the survey over multiple sessions (once you complete a page and select "next," your browser should save your submitted form data for future completion), or we have provided a pdf version of the survey for planning purposes only (all data MUST be submitted electronically through the form). Note: due to feedback, the deadline for survey responses has been extended to Wednesday, November 13.
Please allow ample time to complete the survey (estimated completion time is 45 minutes to an hour). This survey was sent to the main contact of each firm in the Metropolitan, Long Island and Mid-Hudson Regions.
The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/acecnybenchmark19. Please: only one response per firm.
Note: Your data will be kept private and will not be accessible to any parties outside of ACEC New York. During the report process, all data will be screened by ACEC New York staff, and each submission will be randomly assigned a number. Once this survey is complete, all data will be kept securely in its redacted form. Survey participants will receive discounted rates on registration for the report, as well as the report itself.
The data from the survey will be compiled into a comprehensive report. This report will be presented at a half-day program (tentatively scheduled for March 2020).
