Engineer of the Year and New Principal of the Year Announced. ACEC New York will recognize Engineer of the Year: Charles Gozdziewski, PE, Chairman Emeritus, Hardesty & Hanover and New Principal of the Year: Maxine Hill, Sr. Vice President, NY Area Manager, WSP USA, as well as the Chairman's Award recipient, the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York, at the Annual Meeting on June 5. ACEC Young Professional of the Year - New York Nominees Chosen. The ACEC Recognition and Awards Committee has chosen Salvador Bentolila, AECOM and Shravya Markandeya, Michael Baker International as the two ACEC New York nominees for the ACEC National Young Professional of the Year award. These nominations have been forwarded to ACEC National for the final Young Professional of the Year selection, which will be announced at their Fall Conference in October of 2019. The New York nominees will be recognized at an upcoming Emerging Leaders meeting, date TBD.

Reminder: Committee Participation Form Due May 31. The electronic Committee Participation Form has been issued to the ACEC New York main contact for each firm (search your main office in the online directory to verify your main contact). Each firm should submit only ONE form for committee nominations. Assignments are made by the Chair-elect and are confirmed in July (term is August 1-July 30). To view the current 2018-19 Committees, visit our website. Requests received after May 31 may not be accommodated for the 2019-2020 operating year.

Updates to Membership Listing Due May 31. The main contact for each firm/branch office should review their firm’s listing in our online directory, and any changes should be submitted via each contact's login by May 31. Reminder: ONLY the main contact for each firm/branch can make changes to directory entries - other logins do not have this feature. On May 31, your listing will be considered current and will be printed in the directory as is.

Advertise in the 2019-20 ACEC New York Printed Directory. Ad space is now available for reservation in the 2019-20 ACEC New York printed directory, which will be produced and released in the summer of 2019. This directory is distributed not only to members but also to state, city and local government leaders. There are several advertising opportunities available, including purchasing advertising space on the directory covers, tabbed pages, and an "enhanced" directory listing. Advertising space is first come, first served. To reserve space, complete the form and return to Natasha Burns at Deadline for reserving space and submitting art is June 21, 2019.

Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP New York Construction Awards, June 12. The annual New York Construction Awards, presented by Anchin, in cooperation with the New York Building Congress (NYBC), American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACEC New York), the Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) and Willis Towers Watson, will take place on June 12 at the Yale Club. Call for Submissions! ACEC New York is looking for both technical and business programs to present as webinars. PDH webinars should be about one hour and should be technical in nature. Presenters earn 3 PDHs per 1-hour technical class the first time they present.
