ACEC New York Annual Meeting: Now a Virtual Experience.
Due to the current COVID-19 epidemic and restrictions on gatherings, the ACEC New York Annual Meeting will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams over two days (June 2 and 3) in four sessions.
This event will
feature a number of relevant presentations and recognize the 2020 Engineer of the Year, New Principal of the Year and Chairman's Award recipients, as well as the induction of new board members and recognition
of the Leadership Institute graduates of 2020. To view the full agenda and to register online, visit the event website. The award winners
will be announced next week.
Now Accepting Committee Nominations for 2020-21. The electronic Committee Participation Form has been issued to the ACEC
New York main contact for each firm. Each firm should submit only ONE
form for committee nominations. Assignments are made by the Chair-elect
and are announced in July (term is August 1-July 30). To view
the current 2019-20 Committees, visit our website.
ACEC New York Resume Bank During COVID-19. During these challenging times, ACEC New York has established a RESUME BANK to help match engineers that have been separated from firms with available opportunities among our member firms. Separated engineers from member firms can ask to have their resume included in the bank by sending a PDF of their resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with one of three listed disciplines (MEP, Civil or Structural) in the header. These resumes will be collected in the appropriate bank without review or evaluation. Member firms seeking to fill openings can send a request for the resumes in the bank to Hannah O'Grady at ACEC New York (email@example.com). The request should indicate which discipline (MEP, Civil or Structural) is being sought. ACEC New York will NOT read or evaluate any resumes. All communication should be through email. This service will continue as long as deemed appropriate.
Reminder: Update Member Directory Profiles.
The end of the fiscal year is approaching, and ACEC New York is working
to make sure our records are up to date. Visit your firm's directory listing
and make sure all contact info, including principals and employees, are
up to date. Main contacts can update profiles via their website logins.
Verify that branch addresses are correct, as well. As a reminder, the
employee count on member profiles will be used throughout ACEC New York
records, including dues calculations. Questions? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
May 27, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM | PDH Webinar #125: Remediating and Redeveloping Brownfields
During this difficult time, virtual learning opportunities are more valuable than ever.
Call for Submissions! ACEC New York is looking for both technical and business programs to present as webinars. PDH webinars should be about one hour and should be technical in nature. Presenters earn 3 PDHs per 1-hour technical class the first time they present. Business webinars should also be about 1 hour and should provide information relevant to our membership (no sales pitches). Contact Erica Lavigne at email@example.com.
