As an authorized sponsor of continuing education, the ACEC New York can approve courses for certification acceptable for engineering, land surveying and architectural credits in New York* and provides guidelines for preparing your course for certification. This includes direct classroom education as well as tours and self-study programs.
Completed course application forms should be submitted to ACEC New York via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Should the space provided on the form be insufficient, please abbreviate or attach information as a separate document.
*ACEC New York courses approved for continuing education credit may apply to requirements in other states. Because each state may change their requirements, ACEC New York cannot guarantee that a course will be approved in other jurisdictions. For states that have CE requirements, most accept approved New York courses or related activities other than those that are New York specific. As of January 2017, Florida reported that engineers must maintain proof of all courses taken for at least 4 years.
Note: On September 1, 2018, the fee for PDH course approval will now be $100 for members and $375 for non-members. This change is necessary to accommodate increased interest and subsequent workload. All other fees will remain the same, including a $100 fee for courses received less than 10 days before the course date and the $40 member/$75 non-member fee for offering a duplicate course within the given year.
Due to unforeseen volume, the current turnaround time for course approvals is 1-2 months. Please plan your approval request accordingly.
